A continuous increase in energy efficiency and the associated conscious use of resources are our concerns. In this way, we are driving forward the energy revolution - and have been doing so for over 25 years.

How it all began

IngSoft GmbH was founded in 1997 as a result of a diploma thesis. Karsten Reese, founder and managing director of IngSoft, was studying electrical engineering in Erlangen at the time. He always had a clear goal in mind: to dedicate his professional life to energy saving. Specialized courses of study on the subject of energy management did not exist at that time.

Karsten Reese wrote his diploma thesis on the subject of "Energy controlling for small to medium-sized municipalities". From this diploma thesis the software EasyWatt was developed and from this in turn IngSoft GmbH was founded. In addition, his book DIN EN ISO 50001 in der Praxis. A Guide to Setting Up and Operating an Energy Management System (2016 edition), he has created a key fundamental work for energy managers. A true pioneer in energy management.

In close cooperation with customers, EasyWatt was continuously developed further until finally the web-based energy controlling solution "IngSoft InterWatt" was created. Since its market launch in 2004, InterWatt has won over numerous customers from industry and commerce as well as energy supply companies with its innovative features , ever-increasing automation and flexible application options.

Today, IngSoft employs around 50 people and has more than 20,000 users.

What started in 1997 in a typical student flat-share has developed into a market-leading medium-sized software company. Time and again, we have demonstrated a keen sense for promising developments in energy management. Today, however, we are looking beyond this and are increasingly focusing on climate and environmental management.
