User conference 2022

Energy meets climate: Professional exchange and top-class lectures

09.10.2022 5 Minutes

Our user conference - for many years a firmly established day under the sign of energy management. But not only is the need to talk about energy much greater than ever this year, the topic of climate is also moving up the agenda: Priority High! Accordingly, the conference program was packed: 12 exciting presentations by our software users, experts and colleagues, which set new impulses and created space for exchange. We are pleased that so many guests accepted our invitation for September 21, 2022 - online or at KORN'S Nuremberg - in the heart of the Noris.

New topics, new location, old & new acquaintances.

After two years of user conferences, the majority of which were followed online by our participants due to the Corona requirements, there was finally room for personal encounters again in the year of our 25th anniversary. Around 85 users were guests: in our conference room on the 7th floor with a beautiful view of Nuremberg Castle or via live transmission, which, by the way, our colleagues realize themselves with a lot of heart and soul.

What was going on at the User Conference 2022

It is our claim to present our customers with high-quality content - with added value and on the pulse of time. A central part of the program is always an update on our IngSoft InterWatt software. This could not be missed this year either. Our colleagues gave insight into new functions and improvements. In view of the complex and rapidly changing legal situation, an overview of the current political and legal framework conditions was also not to be missed.

The aim of the user conference is also to provide our users with impetus for the many different ways in which our software can be used in practice and to create a platform for expert presentations on current, significant topics, such as the energy and climate crisis.

Climate strategy and measures for energy shortage using the example of the city of Nuremberg

The colorful program of presentations at this year's user conference therefore addressed an important topic right at the start: climate protection. Guest speaker Wolfgang Müller, Climate Protection Officer of the City of Nuremberg, gave an exciting insight into the climate strategy of the City of Nuremberg. The audience learned which plans, measures and goals the city administration is pursuing in order to achieve its set goal of climate neutrality by 2035.

Alexander Nordhus, Energy Manager at the City of Nuremberg, followed up with another highly relevant presentation on the energy shortage situation. He showed what measures the city of Nuremberg is taking at its city-owned properties and what their implementation looks like in concrete terms.

Energy efficiency measures in building technology

Bastian Schmelzkopf, project manager at energo from Switzerland and long-time user of IngSoft InterWatt, also raised awareness for the topic of energy saving in his presentation. He presented various possibilities for the implementation of non-investment energy efficiency measures in building technology by means of energetic operational optimization.

Paths to climate neutrality

One of the highlights was the guest lecture by Professor Dr.-Ing. da Silva, holder of the professorship for technical building equipment and renewable energy at the University of Applied Sciences Konstanz. The focus: the topic of climate neutrality. There is an extreme need for action to reduce our CO2 consumption! He shows various well-known, but also new ideas, how the way to climate neutrality can be paved by technical implementations. Among them, for example, the possibility of storing and using renewable energies on the basis of the existing natural gas infrastructure.

IngSoft InterWatt in practice

Georg Geisenberger, energy manager at TÜV SÜD, then got down to the nitty-gritty. He reported on his practical experience with the introduction of IngSoft InterWatt: from the introduction process, to the creation of the basic structure, to the extensive use of stored evaluations, e.g. as the cornerstone for TÜV SÜD's climate report.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the speakers for their time and the exciting and instructive presentations.

Opportunity for direct feedback

In addition to the program items, we traditionally also give our guests the opportunity for feedback during the user conference. This is an important opportunity for us to make our software and our service even better for you! After all, when do our users have the opportunity to interact so directly with our development and support colleagues? We take your experiences, suggestions for improvement and wishes seriously and try to put your concerns into practice promptly. Already with first results: On October 20, an expert training course was held in Nuremberg - with the desired focus: "Recognizing and eliminating common error patterns, handling log messages, and evaluation options in IngSoft InterWatt".

Festive conclusion to a successful event day

Unlike in previous years, this year's user conference was not the only reason to invite our customers to Nuremberg. Because there was also reason to celebrate: 25 successful company years!

At our anniversary celebration in the evening, we toasted with our users, companions, partners and colleagues and thus let an all-round successful event day come to an end together. After an official greeting by Dr. Michael Fraas, the City of Nuremberg's Economics and Science Officer, and a thoughtful review of the anniversary by our Managing Director Karsten Reese, there was time for exchanges and personal conversations in a relaxed atmosphere. There were also plenty of laughs: cabaret artist Oliver Walter sweetened the evening with a humorous show.

We would like to thank all our guests for their participation! We hope that we were able to provide you with an enjoyable and insightful day. We are happy to have such great users, colleagues, partners and companions!
