How your energy data finds its way into our software
For efficient energy management, companies need to efficiently record and evaluate the energy data from their industrial or building environments and make it available for optimisation. However, the connection of field devices that supply the relevant data is often associated with challenges: Heterogeneous devices and communication protocols, data plausibility, different time intervals and much more.
With IngSoft InterWatt, we provide you with a manufacturer-independent, scalable connection of field technology using common interface technologies.
Possible integration paths
Field technology includes sensors, meters, actuators and control devices that are installed directly on systems, machines or buildings and record the measured values required for intelligent, data-driven energy management. Our IngSoft InterWatt energy management software enables field connection via two central integration paths:
Modern, software-based integration via IngSoft InterWatt Edge
IngSoft InterWatt Edge is a smart software solution for companies to reliably record and process real-time data from different systems and meters and make it available for IngSoft InterWatt or other neighbouring systems - without the need for a physical data logger.
Classic integration of field devices via specific hardware
Of course, energy data can also be transferred to IngSoft InterWatt via dedicated hardware solutions from the field technology.
The typical hardware-based integration components used here include
- Multi-protocol gateways for bundling different fieldbuses and protocols
- Data loggers for local recording, buffering and pre-processing of energy data
- LoRaWAN radio systems for wireless connection of battery-operated sensors and meters
Support for common communication protocols
IngSoft InterWatt is designed for use in heterogeneous industrial and building environments. The software supports a wide range of established transmission protocols, including
- Modbus
- BACnet
- OPC UA
Typical application scenarios
- Electricity, gas, water and heat meters via Modbus
- Building automation via BACnet
- Process and status data from control systems via OPC UA
